Description
What You Will Do- Performs data entry and keeps transport equipment inventory records.
- Repairs broken wheelchairs.
- Removes broken or soiled equipment from all hospital corridors.
- Stages transport equipment throughout the hospital for patient transports.
- Delivers equipment to testing areas and the emergency department.
- Recovers abandoned equipment from hospital corridors.
- Performs new hire training of transport employees.
- Communicates with other departments to assess their transport needs.
- Must be orientated to physical layout of hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
- Returns abandoned equipment to owners.
- Recovers Equipment from garages and off campus areas when necessary.
- Assist in outpatient transport if applicable to the facility.
- Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- 2+ years Patient transport experience (Required)
- Excellent communication skills (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, and oxygen) (Required proficiency)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required)
