Principal Program Lead, Supplier Quality and Safety

Overview
This Supply Chain role is primarily responsible for developing and monitoring Chick-fil-A’s food safety and quality programs for perishable food products supplied to our Restaurants. This role is also responsible for maintaining the safety and quality relationship of multiple approved Supplier facility locations. Provides technical assistance to both Restaurant Operators and Suppliers concerning Food Safety and Quality. Additional responsibilities include implementing and updating the product audit program for Supplier performance management.
This position is located at our corporate office in Atlanta, GA., the Chick-fil-A Support Center

Responsibilities
- Serve the Chick-fil-A Restaurant Operator by implementing Supplier Quality and Safety Expectations with food Suppliers
- Manage Supplier performance and relationships for a subset of product categories, e.g. produce, bread, waffle fries, desserts, etc.
- Review product related data for actionable insights aimed to prevent or resolve product quality and safety issues, up to an including product holds and withdrawals
- Act as Supplier Quality and Safety Lead in Supplier redundancy projects. Matching products and specifications to roll out new Suppliers and facilities to enable the growth of Chick-fil-A
- Participate in innovation and continuous improvement projects in the purview of assigned product categories
- Build strong, collaborative working relationships with key Suppliers and visit their facilities regularly
- Plan and direct quality continuous improvement projects with key Suppliers
- Drafts project scopes and agreements, and maintains project budget
- Develop and champion internal processes and standardization; share best practices
- Collaborate with internal Chick-fil-A stakeholders to ensure food safety and quality standards are met
- Represent Chick-fil-A when meeting with Supplier partners and when in industry, e.g. while attending conferences and trade meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Supply Chain, or Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the food industry
- Strong business acumen in risk management and quality programs
- Strong analytical skills; ability to collect, trend, and interpret data in order to make business insights
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Quality assurance experience
- Manufacturing experience in FDA regulated foods
