Summary

This QA Analyst position will support HII-NNS in San Diego, CA. 

 

What You Will Do

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform Quality Assurance functions.

    • Conducting inspections as directed to assess service quality and compliance with specifications & Navy Standard Items in support of in-service aircraft carrier availabilities. 

    • Monitoring quality control / assurance requirements of all preservation preformed onboard US Navy Aircraft Carriers in accordance with established Navy regulations and industry standards and specific contractual requirements as defined in the Scope of Work.

    • Climb tall ladders, crawl tanks/bilges in confined spaces, inspect from Aerial Lifts and scaffolding, and inspect areas extending over shoulders and work in adverse environmental conditions for long periods of time onboard aircraft carriers.

    • Collaborate with customer QA/SWRMC SBS on necessary aspects of the job.

What You Must Have

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.

  • Must have current experience / knowledge of Maritime paintings standards with particular emphasis in US Navy ship preservation criterion.

  • Must have current experience / knowledge of the ship repair industry standards for surface preparation and coating applications and knowledge of basic QA equipment (SSPC/AMPP).

  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard.

  • Must have 3+ years coating inspection experience.

  • Must have strong communications skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated leadership.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and CVN access.

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Experience on U.S Navy Aircraft Carriers is a strong plus.

  • NBPI certification or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of NDT and PCP requirements are a plus.

  • At least 3 years experience coating inspection experience in the Marine industry (Higher certifications and experience level is preferred).

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
