Mountain Asset Management ("MAM") is hiring an Analyst to join the company as a member of the team responsible for managing a proprietary fixed income portfolio. MAM is a U.S. based subsidiary of Canada Life, which is owned by Great-West Lifeco whose affiliate companies also includes Empower.
As a member of a smaller team, the candidate will be broadly exposed to the portfolio management process and will have the opportunity to contribute to the areas of credit research, trade execution, portfolio reporting and data management. Initial focus will be on municipal bonds and asset-backed securities.
Candidates must be based in the Denver, Colorado metro area or be willing to relocate. We work primarily in the office and offer flexibility to accommodate work-life balance needs.
What you will do
- Prepare credit reports on a routine and ad hoc basis, following monitoring guidelines and demonstrating ability to manage the collection and analysis of relevant financial data
- Assist with daily monitoring of market activities and trade execution
- General database creation and management, and portfolio reporting as required
- Opportunity to support analysts with credit surveillance and sourcing of new investments on an as-needed basis
- Other duties as assigned
What you will bring
- Minimum two (2) years, three (3) years preferred, of relevant experience and a basic understanding of credit analysis, preferably as it relates to fixed income investments
- Above average written and oral communication skills
- Ability to perform responsibilities with general direction and supervision, adhering to guidelines, established cycles and company deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related subject required
- Chartered Financial Analyst designation and/or MBA/MFA preferred
- Strong proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and S&P’s Capital IQ applications a plus

Base Salary Range
