Okta is searching for a Senior Analyst to assist with Okta’s tax transformation efforts as a member of the Global Tax Compliance and Reporting Team. The ideal candidate is a process-oriented team builder with technical knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes, fundamental income tax concepts and a strong interest in implementing tax technology solutions to improve existing tax processes. We’re looking for someone who thinks outside of the box and has strong project management skills because our high-performing culture is based on autonomy and responsibility.
The role is hybrid based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Job duties and responsibilities may include assisting with the following:
- Automate, streamline and improve our tax reporting and compliance processes, including the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of tax technology solutions. This would include third-party software, self-developed solutions (through robotic process automation (RPA)) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools
- Preparation process for the company’s quarterly and annual income tax accrual under ASC 740 with the assistance of our external tax advisors
- Income tax related disclosures in our 10K, 10Q, and non-GAAP reporting
- Federal, state, and international income tax return compliance process
- Managing the relationship with our external auditors
- Review and preparation of tax workpapers
- Cash tax and income tax expense forecasting process
- SOX compliance documentation and timely performance of controls
- Tax modeling and other special projects
- Diligence and tax accounting related to acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations
- Managing tax controversy matters
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of combined public accounting and/or industry experience in tax
- Proven experience with tax technology solutions and ERP systems. Knowledge of emerging technologies like RPA and AI is highly valued.
- CPA license (or equivalent license)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, including experience with tax rate forecasting/modeling, maintaining inventory of deferreds, valuation allowance analysis, FIN 48, and tax footnote disclosures.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and international income tax concepts
- Proficient with Google workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Master’s in Taxation
- Public company and Tech/SaaS experience
- Big 4 accounting firm experience
- OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax experience

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $117,000—$175,000 USDBelow is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
