Position Summary
To serve our customers by delivering and merchandising products to customer locations
according to established standards designed to increase company sales and profits.
Essential Functions
• Delivers, stocks, rotates and displays all products at customer locations according to established standards.
• Invoices customers for sales, collects payment from customers (e.g. check, cash, money order) and secures payment in safe.
• Works with customers at retail locations to ensure that the entire pre-sold order is delivered and merchandised to maximize sales and profitability.
• Works in conjunction with customers and Territory Account Manager to identify opportunities to increase the sales and profitability of the company through incremental displays, communication of price/value and promotions.
• Communicates with customers and Pepsi management team on issues regarding pricing, products, programs and problems that arise in the trade G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers, Inc. to ensure that established customer service standards are maintained.
• Maintains a good working relationship with customers; account and area managers at Pepsi; and other internal employees at Pepsi (e.g. warehouse employees, sales equipment employees).
• Ensure proper POS items are set up and displayed according to established standards (e.g. clings, base wrap, pole signs, banners).
• Responsible for the proper accounting of all products, shells and pallets (e.g. shells and pallets accurately accounted for and returned to facility).
• Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA, DOT and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local laws); wears all required personal protective equipment.
• Trains new employees to perform Geobox Driver job duties in accordance with established standards.
• Maintains and completes required paperwork (e.g. DOT logs, Missed Time Verification forms, time off requests, mileage logs, sales reports, invoices); maintains confidentiality of product pricing, customer key locations and other sensitive information.
• Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
• This position involves handling, stocking, and organizing alcohol products.
Education
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent degree.
Experience
• 6-12 months of previous delivery and customer service experience.
Certifications & Licenses
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License; employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle, as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Other
Knowledge of retail sales environment; beverage industry; stocking, rotating and displaying products; product line.
Skill in: external customer service in a variety of settings.
Ability to: work quickly, independently and efficiently without direct supervision; multi-task; solve problems; adapt to changing tasks and priorities; read (e.g. diagrams, planograms and maps); communicate effectively with customers and other employees; relate to customers and develop good working relationships; be trained on operating a powered hand cart, hand held computer and printer and other mechanical equipment; drive a combination vehicle, accurately count order being delivered and payment received from customer; lift heavy product repetitively. Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including motorized pallet jack and walkie rider, in compliance with safety standards and company procedure.
