Job Description

Proto is accelerating the world's transition to an open economy with products that increase access and independence for everyone. We're building Bitkey, a simple and safe self-custody bitcoin wallet that will put customers in control, as well as hardware and software that will help decentralize bitcoin mining and enable new and innovative use cases for bitcoin mining. As the Proto Business Lead, you will:

• Lead a team of talented experts across business functions including product marketing, marketing, sales, and business development – and work with and through your team to accomplish the bullets below this one

• Develop and drive go-to-market strategy on both Bitkey and mining initiatives, in collaboration with a wide range of cross-functional peers

• Collaborate with the head of Proto as well as cross-functional peers to develop the business model for our emerging initiatives

• Partner with our operations team on forecasting, logistics and fulfillment, and supply considerations

• Collaborate with our product and design teams to gather customer insights and use them to inform our experience, messaging, and pricing

• Identify and evaluate external partnership and distribution opportunities that help accomplish our ambitious vision for both Bitkey and our bitcoin mining initiatives

• Work with cross-functional peers to publish a broad range of information about our products, approach, and team as part of our open development practices, and seek to understand feedback from external communities

Qualifications

You have:

• 12+ years of shipping amazing products with deep involvement, including in a senior leadership role, from concept through success in market 

• Demonstrated experience hiring and growing talented teams

• Experience building with bitcoin, or interest and capability to learn the industry and technology quickly

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $290,000 - USD $435,000
Zone B: USD $290,000 - USD $435,000
Zone C: USD $290,000 - USD $435,000
Zone D: USD $290,000 - USD $435,000
