About the role
Overview
This position will bridge the cap between material handler and shuttle/spotter drivers for the warehouse. Responsible for spotting/shuttling trailers as requested and monitoring upkeep of equipment used.

Responsibilities
- Perform all material handler functions
- Report on any unsafe or potential unsafe conditions to Leadership / Warehouse Manager immediately
- Replenish raw materials in staging areas as production demands require
- Load trailers with finished goods and scrap material
- Operate shrink wrap machine as needed
- Safely move product via forklift to and from production areas
- Stock production department with supplies (Tape, PE Bags, corrugate, etc.)
- Receive and deliver all LTL incoming products and packages
- Inspect incoming products and packages for damage and report findings to warehouse group leader
- Use handheld or truck mounted terminals to control warehouse inventory
- Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts
- Communicate and cooperate with all team members in a positive and professional manner
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized and remove unused items from the production floor
- Report on potential warehouse hazards to department Leadership / Warehouse Manager
- Attend any / all department meetings
- Must be willing and able to work overtime
- Any other duties as assigned by Leadership / Warehouse Manager
- Understands and will adhere to all ISO / SQF guidelines and policies
AUTHORITIES
- To move raw material, WIP, and finished goods physically and be responsible for these transactions in the JDE inventory system
- Fill out daily trailer log for movement tracking purposes
- Track trailer and tractor maintenance
- Perform required D.O.T. Inspections to ensure tractor is in safe working order
- Spot Berry and Carrier trailers as requested
- Fuel trucks as needed
- Ensure all equipment is being maintained and kept clean
- Shuttle trailers to and from the Plant / Warehouse / Lot locations as requested
- Fill out accident reports in the Accident Reporting Database (GDC)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Able to climb on and off forklift safely without assistance, minimum six times per hour
- Lift and move up to 35 pounds manually
- Requires good peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- Requires sitting, standing and climbing
- Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns
- Must be able to drive truck in safe and professional manner
- Ability to work in extremes of heat/cold
- Verbal communications adequate to use a radio or paging system to contact co-workers in other areas of the complex
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete multiple task simultaneously
- Knowledge of terminals and computers and proven ability to apply that knowledge
- Prior warehouse and PIT experience preferred
- Clean driving record
