Our Team
We are seeking a Software Engineer for a key position on Walmart’s Driver Experience group under the Last Mile Delivery initiative. Driver experience is key to the success of the Last Mile platform that powers Walmart’s Grocery, General Merchandize and Same Day Delivery propositions. We deal with driver Payments, miles driven, externalization of Walmart Core delivery services. Last Mile Delivery is expected to grow multiple times over in the next few years. In this role, you will develop highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software engineering problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. 

What you’ll bring: 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area with 3+ years of experience in software engineering or related area.

• OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area with 1+ year of experience in software engineering or related area.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing REST API web services using NodeJS and ExpressJS.

• Skilled in creating and implementing GraphQL queries and mutations.

• Experience writing SQL queries and scripts using relational database tools.

• Expertise in developing unit test and integration test cases using Mocha.

• Ability to author CI/CD pipeline scripts using container orchestration.

• Proficiency in conducting stress testing for web services using DevOps tools.

• Competence in documenting technical solutions by developing flow charts and diagrams using Confluence.

• Experience in implementing second-level in-memory cache using Redis.

• Skilled in setting up cron job schedulers using k8s.

• Proficiency in coding with object-oriented languages including JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Experience in building Kafka pipelines to manage events to/from other systems.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in an approachable way for broad audiences.

What you’ll do:

• Taking the lead on problems related to scale & monetization.

• Leveraging your experience of designing and building large scale distributed systems, solving problems related to scale and 

have experience with process huge amounts of data.

• Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (
