About the role

Are you interested in being part of Oracle's break-through in cloud computing on Exadata platform? We are looking for  engineers who are experts at systems-level, have strong developer experience in C/C++, can understand & adapt faster on this constantly emerging technology.

As part of Server Technologies, we are customer-facing development team and looking for developers having the right aptitude, attitude and very strong communication skills in driving and resolving product issues faced by Oracle Customers.

 

Our team works on all Database proficiency and candidates for this role would be working on Exadata (Engineered Systems) and Oracle Database Stack, one of the highly visible and revenue-generating products for Oracle. Exadata highly performant platform of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, any issue or problem faced by customer(s) in the cloud is of very high impact. As a member of the customer-facing development team, you will engage in customer issues and may have to contribute to customer calls to understand, explain, and resolve the problem for them.  Also, responsible to drive the issues to closure meeting the organization’s SLAs.

As an engineer on our team, you will be a part of the design, development, and release of software to help plan, deliver and scale our data centers. Contribute to building novel backend systems, RESTful web services and rich user interfaces. You care about crafting usable, useful software that solves real problems and brings delight to users. You have proven communication skills. You can clearly explain sophisticated technical concepts.

Any development experience in IO subsystem, Operating Systems, Storage technologies and Oracle Databases would be a plus. Work is non-routine, sophisticated and highly visible with customer success being the main focus.   Important background:

  • Prior Experience: Require MS/BS degree and/or equivalent 10+ years of experience in Development and well versed with processes in Software Development methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming Concepts
  • Programming Languages: C/C++, Java, Scripting (Perl, Python, Shell)



Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. 

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. 

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 years of software engineering or related experience.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
