Summary
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for managing the Vehicle Location Management System (VLMS) and its integration with the legacy IVELES system to generate and share key data. The role requires strong SQL and Java skills for system maintenance and enhancement, as well as managing device inventory and maintenance. A basic understanding of networking and GPS technologies is also essential to ensure stable system operations.
Responsibilities
• Application and Database Management
◦ Oversee and maintain databases and applications supporting critical systems
◦ Ensure database and application performance, security, and reliability through ongoing monitoring and maintenance
◦ Write SQL queries to validate data integrity and support troubleshooting efforts
◦ Support program maintenance and updates for iVELES and VLMS(Vehicle Location Management System)
◦ Data Monitoring and Quality Assurance
◦ Monitor and manage data related to the vehicle location management system
◦ Ensure data quality and accuracy through rigorous quality assurance practices
◦ Vehicle Tracking Device Management
◦ Maintain accurate inventory records for vehicle location tracking devices
◦ Monitor device performance and coordinate timely maintenance and repairs
◦ Technical Support
◦ Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in web and mobile applications
◦ Leverage expertise in Java programming and database management to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
• User Requirements Coordination
◦ Gather user requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications
◦ Collaborate with system development teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs
◦ Vendor Maintenance Coordination
◦ Coordinate with external vendors on maintenance tasks
◦ Submit repair requests and ensure timely resolution of issues without engaging in contract negotiations
◦ Continuous Improvement
◦ Continuously evaluate and enhance technical processes to boost system efficiency and user satisfaction
◦ Implement best practices for application performance tuning and debugging
◦ Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Compensation
$74,000-$84,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Good written and verbal communication skills: must be able to effectively convey and document designs and processes Required
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies Required
• Excellent business analysis, test planning, activity planning skills Required
• Have a good understanding and extensive knowledge of Logistics industry concepts Required
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Java and Java EE Required
• Knowledge in Java, .NET, C#, Javascript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, DOM, Git/SVN Required
• DB Programming Experience (PL/SQL or T-SQL) Required
• Familiarity with Network and GPS communication technologies Preferred
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree Required
• 5 - 8 Years of Direct Experience in Information Technology Required
• 6 - 9 Years of Direct Experience in Information Technology Preferred
