Senior Manager Manufacturing
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will work closely with peers within Manufacturing (site and network) and partner functions including Supply Chain, Quality, Process Development, Engineering, Safety, and Technology. You will provide oversight for day-to-day operations but also influence strategy, drive continuous improvement and productivity, and champion digital literacy and digital solution development and adoption. The position will serve on the AR30 manufacturing leadership team as well as the broader ARI Manufacturing extended team.
Responsibilities:
Safety and Quality Oversight: The cornerstone of our operations are safe and compliant execution by the manufacturing team - own and build upon the strong safety and quality culture within the department and ensure standards are upheld.
Operational Leadership: Lead Solution Prep teams to reliably deliver production targets. Provide Purposeful Presence on the Floor (Gemba) to monitor overall department performance, provide coaching, and ensure consistency with our core Floor Operating Principles. Coordinate support to troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues as needed (on-call coverage is coordinated among the AR30 leadership team for 24/7 operation).
I-530 Operations Leadership: Supply large-scale process buffers for I-530 programs from, innovating on our capabilities to optimize capacity utilization, resource deployment, and scalability across AR30 and AR5.
Talent Development: Mentor and develop frontline managers and staff, fostering an environment of engagement, belonging, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Innovation and Process Enhancement: Drive process transformation initiatives to support higher efficiency and eliminate non-value-added activities. Lead operational readiness for process enhancements, including innovative changeover and scheduling solutions.
Network collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional peers across the global Amgen network to share lessons learned and best practices and build alignment on strategic priorities to elevate the network as a whole.
Capacity and Financial Planning: Perform resource planning, financial assessments, and capacity modeling, ensuring the Solution Prep organization can meet the evolving needs of the long-range manufacturing plan.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to reduce deviations, improve success rates, and maintain high adherence to disposition timelines. Champion the adoption of innovative tools such as digital control solutions and real-time operational oversight platforms.
Agile Workforce Leadership: Reinforce and build ARI Manufacturing’s Agile Workforce model and OnePlant mentality by enabling cross-training and dynamic resource allocation across AR5 and AR30 that enhances responsiveness and productivity while increasing opportunities for staff development.
Sustainability Leadership: Contribute to achieving AR30’s sustainability goals through process optimizations that reduce waste and energy consumption.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR
