Who We Are……
McWane Inc. has a newly created division, McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI). This new division, based in Birmingham, AL, combines all Plant and Industrial Products in a single customer-focused package. We offer comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is “easiest to do business with”. We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants. We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, we will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure we are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades.

Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the attainment of overall sales objectives for the McWane Plant & Industrial product portfolio within the given territory. The incumbent will need to make connections with internal and external stakeholders, motivating and inspiring them to achieve the expected growth goals for the territory and overall business. The work involves driving towards results by obtaining the commitment and buy-in of others. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction, results are only achieved through people. Knowledge and skill in how to successfully influence and persuade others by understanding how their individual needs and motivations link to goals is essential.
This position requires a high degree of “selling“, whether ideas and policies within the organization or products or services in the marketplace. The job environment is fast-paced and results-oriented. While there is an urgency to goal achievement, responsibility for achieving results needs to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. Initiating projects and processes beyond established organizational practices will often require training and developing others, and enlisting their support by using a “selling” rather than “telling” communication style. A self-confident, extroverted style that can enliven, engage and positively impact individuals and groups is essential.
The role has a variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing. Because goals and desired results can quickly change, the job requires regularly meeting and proactively establishing relationships with new groups. The ability to understand, quickly react, and motivate others to adapt to the changing organizational environment is critical to success. In general, the core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional distributors, contractors, and municipalities located within the territory, creating value, and driving to achieve financial results.
- Develop and implement territory sales plans, incorporating key stakeholder feedback, while influencing the efforts of assigned manufacturer’s representatives, distributors, contractors, and municipalities to achieve the territory growth and market share goals.
- Establish, maintain, and prioritize a project and distributor conversion pipeline within the assigned region.
- Inform the company of business, product, and competitive trends within the region in support of our new product, service, and business initiatives. Incorporate trends and work across the organization to develop sales tools and promotions focused on achieving new product and financial objectives.
