Senior Fleet Underwriter
Job Summary: The Senior Fleet Underwriter position is responsible for selecting, underwriting, pricing, and quoting complex fleet commercial automobile accounts.
Major Accountabilities:

Underwrite and price complex new & renewal risks, handle agency exceptions and communicate decisions effectively.

Appropriately manage individual fleet book/portfolio, pricing, renewal, retention and risk performance.

Effectively manage agent relationships by communicating business appetite, risk acceptability parameters, request for endorsement processing expediting agency requests for service.

Effectively communicate risk acceptability and pricing proposals for risk outside individual underwriting authority.

Provide technical advice for less experienced underwriters including providing technical expertise for policy audits and risks falling outside underwriters' authority levels.

Work effectively with various enterprise departments to manage end customer service and distribution.

Create and maintain reports to effectively manage assigned agent base & distribution channel.

Escalate and assist with product development and enhancements based on competitor analysis and customer feedback.

Act as a company representative at agency meetings and industry events.

Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Risk and Insurance or related field required. CPCU or other industry designation required.
Experience/Specialized Skills:

Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial auto underwriting.
- Advanced Underwriting skills required.
- Advanced understanding of exposure identification, evaluation, quantification and classification.
- Advanced understanding of application of proper rates and ability to analyze rate adequacy.

Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet, e-mail).
Special Considerations
Physical Requirements: Constant use of vision, hearing, and communication (oral and written/in-person and via telephone). Frequent concentration, standing, walking, handling, reaching, and grasping. Occasional bending, kneeling and lifting (up to 25 lbs.) Heavy use of computer and office equipment.
Travel/Hours of Service: Occasional travel required. Periodic work outside of standard business hours or on weekends may be required.
