The Role
Kasa is seeking a Building Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for providing specialized support for all building systems maintenance and facility operations for The Clyde Hotel by Kasa Portland. This includes focus on identifying maintenance and system opportunities, improving quality and property performance at every turn. This role will demand on the ground "living the business" with a guest-service first mindset as well as constant resourcefulness to tackle new and interesting challenges a historical building will throw at you. This role will report to the Hotel General Manager and work closely with the Mountain West Portfolio Team.About the Team

Like any Ops role, you should expect to have a number of competing priorities in a given day or week. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with a wide degree of autonomy, creativity, and cost-effectiveness. One day could be troubleshooting a lock that doesn't seem to be operating properly, the next spent addressing an issue with a commercial washer, coordinating repair techs, seeking root cause for the issues, and tackling the solutions with positivity and with a voracious desire to learn. Key Responsibilities:- Actively provide technical engineering support for the on-site team regarding the operation, improvements, replacements, and/or upgrades for building systems and equipment.
- Identify and recommend potential building systems-related projects.
- Lead efforts involving preventative maintenance requirements, process improvements, standards review and troubleshooting, equipment selection, and service vendors.
- Direct capital projects in tandem with the General Manager, such as major design changes, performance and process improvement changes, and reliability analysis and related improvements.
- Assist the General Manager with obtaining and reviewing price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for ongoing property maintenance and special projects. Resourcefulness will be key, using the wealth of resource already onsite, prioritizing and working within the approved budget.
- Understand existing elevator and fire/life safety systems maintenance, making recommendations for process or capital improvements, and assisting in project management of modernization of any of these systems.
- Assist with building retail and food & beverage leased spaces, guiding partner maintenance to proper solutions.

Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience providing facilities support in the commercial, multi-family, or hospitality industry
- Strong working knowledge of all building systems including commercial washers/dryers, life and fire safety, elevator, HVAC air handling, doors and lock systems, and other centralized systems.
- You have a high level of independence and can make thoughtful decisions, even in fast-paced and ambiguous operating environments.
