Woodard & Curran also aids employees in earning, upgrading, and keeping their certifications within the industry. What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran? Positions are available for licensed, experienced operations and maintenance professionals, for inexperienced individuals looking for their first full-time job, or those in the water/sewer industry seeking to make a career change. Those filling these rewarding, full-time positions will be part of a team responsible for the operation and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and/or process control at water and wastewater facilities. Woodard & Curran has a phenomenal opportunity to join our Customer Service Department team at our Public Water Supply District #2 / East Central Missouri Project. We are looking for a Utility Worker who be responsible for locating underground utilities, changing meters, assisting customer service work orders, and other customer service-related job duties. Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00 pm with rotating on call.
Retirement Savings:• 401(k) Pre-tax or Roth Contributions: Company will match equal to 100% of the first 3% of salary contributed, All employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan and are 100% vested in the value of own contributions and any employer matching contributions.
Time away from work:• Vacation time is provided to full and part-time regular employees. Vacation is accrued, based on number of hours worked per week as well as prior years of experience.• Woodard & Curran offers paid sick time to eligible employees who are absent due to their own non-work related, illness, injury, or medical procedure.• Woodard & Curran provides up to 80 hours of Paid Parental Leave for child bonding in a 12-month period.• Company-paid short- and long-term disability insurance from Sun Life to assist with replacing a portion of your income in the event of non-job-related illness or injury. What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
- Responsible for the installation of water meters in the district
- Meeting with customers about issues on water and sewer
- Manage water meter inventory
- Trouble Shooting (Routes, Water Quality Issues)
- On Call Rotation
- Read meters
- Maintains communication with project personnel
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment
- Perform utility locates
- Oversee water district taps
- Perform service orders
- Preforms water/sewer tap inspections
- Gps water/sewer inspections
- Understands the districts rules and regulations
- Complies with all company Health and Safety procedures
What will you need to succeed?
- Proficiency with computers, including the ability to work with, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other job-related specific systems
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the operation of customer service
- Possess and maintains, as a minimum, a valid DS 1 water License issued by the State of Missouri
- Possess a valid Driver’s License The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
