Position Overview:
The Shipping & Inventory Supervisor leads and manages the inventory control process, ensuring accurate and efficient storage, management, and shipment of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts within their warehouses. This role is critical in supporting production operations, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and minimizing discrepancies.
Essential Functions:
- Team leadership: Supervise, assign duties, mentor, and develop the Inventory Management & Shipping Team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Process Control: Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Process Optimization: Research, evaluate, standardize and implement inventory management best practices and processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Policy Development: Develop policies required to successfully execute the inventory management function; prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
- Resource Management: Manage resource requirements (i.e., inventory and consumables) for Production Operations, anticipating needs and minimizing disruptions.
- Inventory Control: Maintain inventory accuracy to established standards by analyzing efficient cycle count routines for all inventory items, conducting and overseeing regular cycle counts.
- Process Improvement: Analyze discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Shipping Management: Oversee the shipping of inventory items and finished goods, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Storage and Layout: Design and continuously improve the storage and layout of inventory areas to include warehouses and other storage areas considering turnover, size, weight and related factors of items stored.
- Safeguard Inventory: Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock.
- Collaboration: Coordinate and prioritize the pick-up and delivery of parts, working closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Performance Management: Develop, implement, and maintain operational metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous progress. Conduct annual performance reviews for assigned employees.

- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Intuitive ERP a plus).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Forklift license or ability to obtain one.
