Junior Technical Writer (AN/BYG or Naval Experience)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Navy programs, specifically AN/BYG systems, or similar defense-related projects. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and project teams to create clear and accurate technical documentation that supports mission-critical operations. This is a 3 month contract to hire.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical manuals, user guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other documentation for Navy programs, including AN/BYG systems.
• Gather and analyze technical information from various sources, including engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical data into user-friendly, clear, and concise documentation tailored to Navy personnel and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) standards, such as MIL-STD and related documentation guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate representation of systems and workflows.
• Participate in reviews of draft and final deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
• Maintain and update documentation as systems and processes evolve.
• Manage version control and configuration management of documentation repositories.
