We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Backend Engineer to join our fast-paced, fully remote team. In this role, you will focus on building robust and scalable backend systems to power our web applications and internal tools. You’ll collaborate closely with a passionate team to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python (preferably with Django).

• Develop RESTful APIs to support application functionality across web and internal tools.

• Collaborate with team members across engineering and product to solve technical challenges and improve system performance.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using best practices.

• Work with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), ensuring data integrity and performance.

• Support deployment and infrastructure tasks, with opportunities to work in AWS environments.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Python Experience: 2+ years of professional backend development using Python; Django experience strongly preferred.

• Database Skills: Proficiency with SQL; understanding of relational database design and optimization.

• API Design: Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Version Control: Proficient with Git; familiarity with collaborative development workflows.

• Cloud & DevOps (Preferred): 1+ year of experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.

• Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, especially in a remote team environment.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced development environment.

• Familiarity with asynchronous task queues (e.g., Celery), or experience with background job processing.

• Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker).
