Summary

Using initiative and independent judgement, plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with Clinic policies. Assumes supervisory responsibilities as assigned. Assists physician as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Six months work experience in physician's office in a medical support role; experience and proficiency with IV initiation/administration, phlebotomy, home glucose monitor use, EKGs preferred. Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding, triage experience preferred. Current BCLS certification. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills. Verbal and written skills required. Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills. American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR class and examination. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) class and examination.Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient's needs. Visual and auditory acuity for observation of patients. Much standing, stooping, kneeling, walking, bending and lifting. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material. Ability to work under mental and physical stress is necessary.
