Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) is currently hiring a Systems Performance IPTL (Sr. Principal, Systems Engineering) for its Specter portfolio. This is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multiple disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. As the Systems Performance IPTL, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical rigor of technical documents, developing models/software, coordinating across teams, sharing program process knowledge, mentoring engineers, executing test and data collection efforts, coordinating work for the software/SIM and Algorithm/system performance, systems, safety, reliability providing status and determining workflows, providing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Review Board (FRB) assistance, running Failure Investigation Teams (FITs), coordinating SIM model development in agile environment, coordinating with software, coordinating with government and test counterparts, providing briefings to program management, and collaborating with technical and program leads to execute program tasks. This role will involve a large team including Systems Engineering (requirements, interfaces, safety, reliability), Algorithms, Software, Modeling & Simulation, and System Performance. You will have the opportunity to work on various Specter portfolio projects that support the systems’ lifecycle.
This position is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.
What You will Do
- Update, maintain, and improve requirements and technical documentation for development and production efforts
- Support Design and System Verification testing/Data collection
- Support system performance analysis, simulation and software verification
- Model the system and the system development and production processes using Cameo
- Participate in Failure Investigations
- Facilitate knowledge transfer within and across IPTs/CPTs to include Cross-Functional collaboration and coordination
- Conduct Trade Studies and present results to customers
- Support software integration and verification for system test
- Ensure technical rigor of documents
- Coordinate across teams
- Share program process knowledge
- Mentor earlier in career engineers
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in at least 1 of the following areas:
- Software development, integration, and qualification
- Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS) development, integration, verification, and/or validation
- GNC and/or Signal Processing algorithm design, development, verification, and/or validation
- Systems Engineering architecture, requirements development, and/or verification
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Experience taking systems into flight testing
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced degree in STEM
- Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule
