- Develop novel concepts for data center electrical infrastructure solutions covering high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage power system technologies to reduce cost, improve reliability, efficiency, and speed to market
- Lead all phases of design and development life cycle of electrical systems comprising concept design, prototyping and deployments
- Drive cross-functional and interdisciplinary collaboration with other teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, construction, commissioning, and data center operations
- Develop aligned partnership and effective collaborations with data center technology vendors, and consultants to remain current on data center electrical systems industry trends while influencing relevant technology development
- Bachelor of science in electrical engineering
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on design and development experience in mission critical electrical power components and systems including concept formulation, detailed design, modeling/simulation, prototyping, verification/validation testing and deployment for sustained operations
- Cross-disciplinary knowledge of data center electrical systems design and operation: High Voltage - Medium Voltage - Low Voltage power distribution, backup power, energy storage, and on-site generation
- Experience in designing and implementing electrical protection & control systems
- Experience in electrical power simulation software - e.g. ETAP, EMTP, PSSE, PSCAD, etc
- Experience with electric power industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical systems and analytical skills
- Effective presentation skills and demonstrated experience in translating technical terminology in order to drive understanding and buy-in from a varied range of stakeholders
- Advanced degree in electrical engineering: MSc, PhD
- Professional engineer registration
- Experience in electrical power systems reliability modeling, statistical analyses, and data science techniques
- Experience in server power supplies and power electronics related to AC/DC conversion and DC distribution at various voltage levels
- Working knowledge of cost estimating methodologies to establish business cases for electrical design products - e.g. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ROI, etc
- Experience in applying systems engineering methods to electrical design and development projects
