The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center. This position reports directly to the Work Control Center Manager. All work will be completed with a high level of quality, professionalism and full adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for the following crafts:
- Mechanical
- Crane Mechanic
- Elevator Mechanic
- Millwright
- Rigging
Key Responsibilities:
- Developed detailed maintenance work plans and schedules to include labor, tools, materials, permits, and safety requirements.
- Reviewed maintenance requests and created executable work orders for mechanical equipment such as pumps, elevators, roll up doors, filters, and rotating machinery.
- Estimated job durations and labor requirements to support weekly scheduled maintenance and shutdown maintenance period activities.
- Built weekly maintenance schedules that aligned with center priorities
- Balance backlog, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to minimize facility downtime.
- Generated maintenance reports and KPIs.

Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain to maintain a security clearance as required. Six (6) years of related experience in the maintenance field. Additional relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for a portion of the experience. Must be able to effectively communicate and follow instructions. Exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. The Safe Plan of Action (SPA) is a company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries: as such, it is the most important tool that we are required to use.
Work Environment:
Office environment. (75%) Test facilities and active work site environment - loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (25%) Travel between office and various facilities is required (<5%). This is an on-site position.
Physical Requirements:
Limited time spent on active work sites. Must be physically capable of walking and climbing over rough terrain and working at elevated heights and confined spaces. Work sites are commonly areas of high noise levels due to facility operations. (25%) Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.
Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) including the following typical PC Software-Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project (85%).
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (35%). Knowledge of IBM Maximo is beneficial.
Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (5% - 20%)

A valid driver’s license is required.
Must be able to complete and maintain a NASA background check.
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
Must be able to balance scope, schedule, and budget to ensure program success.
