TITLE
Coordinator, Legal Operations
JOB SUMMARY
The Legal Operations Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the administrative functions of the Office of General Counsel. Supports the daily functions and monitors the progress of tasks and coordination of cases, projects, and meetings. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: General Counsel, Secretary to the Board of Regents, and Chief Compliance Officer
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
- Coordinates meetings and projects including Board of Regent meetings.
- Coordinates TPIA requests.
- Reviews and drafts a broad range of legal documents with guidance, depending on the nature and complexity of the document.
- Coordinates, maintains, and organizes office databases and record systems to maintain legal files, litigation files, case files and other legal matters in an organized manner for efficient retrieval and handling.
- Coordinates the updates and tracking of changes to policies.
- Responsible for the coordination of external corresponding invoice processing.
- Coordinates the budget/inventory oversight and ensures all related deadlines are met.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for the Office of General Counsel and screens calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence.
- Provides assistance to the university community by providing guidance to department administrators regarding legal processes.
- Maintains contact with people involved in case matters, coordinates scheduling and generates status reports.
- Keeps contacts informed as appropriate by maintaining interactions and communicating case progress.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Performs other duties as requested.
EDUCATION
High school degree required. Bachelors’ degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience in project management, office manager, paralegal, or a related field required.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
