The Senior Director, Special Event Security demonstrates accountability for objectives related to Global Security operations, procedures, and processes. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of security planning, security logistics, and security operations for special events. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in event security, protective intelligence, threat identification and mitigation, crisis response planning as well as extensive experience leading, and coordinating with, executive protection teams, local and federal law enforcement, and other stakeholders. Role Overview:
The Special Event Security Lead will oversee and execute day-to-day tasks related to special event security, protective intelligence threat mitigation, and special assignments. This role requires frequent travel (up to 50%) domestically and internationally and flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for special events, including risk assessments, resource allocation, and contingency planning.
- Lead and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Conduct advance security work, including site surveys, route planning, and venue assessments.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
- Contribute to protective intelligence operations and threat mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain special event crisis response protocols, ensuring readiness for emergency situations.
- Serve as a vital member of the Global Security team, supporting security operations, crisis management, documentation, and training initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a skilled influencer with strong evaluative judgment, capable of solving complex problems and leading teams in high-stress environments. They are detail-oriented, professional, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the United States Intelligence Community.
- Experience leading a planning committee or serving as an organizational lead during a DHS-designated National Special Security Event (NSSE) or SEAR 1 Special Event.
- Experience leading an Executive Protection team.
- Expertise in threat assessment and risk management for high-profile individuals or events.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Frequent travel (up to 50%) domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Risk Assessment and Business Acumen: The ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential threats and vulnerabilities, and to develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Understand the internal and external factors that impact the organization including market trends, competitive landscape and regulatory requirements.
Information & Analytical Thinking: the ability to collect, analyze and interpret information from various sources to anticipate and counteract potential security threats, while thinking critically and analytically to solve complex security problems and make informed decisions.
Adaptability and Resilience: The capacity to adapt to changing security landscapes and recover quickly from setbacks or incidents.
