We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Production Manager. This position reports to the Operations Manager and will work in Stuart, Florida.

About the position

As Production Manager of the Stuart team, you will be involved in applying Dometic values and expectations into the execution and oversight of daily production tasks by managing and engaging positively with the team.  The Production Manager fosters a collaborative work environment by mentoring and motivating team members to provide zero-incident safety culture and best-in class quality products delivered on-time and in-full to our customers.  This role will involve regular monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of site performance metrics through direct ownership of shift execution and the support of Lean Manufacturing tools and practices.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Sets priorities, allocate work and supervise production employees to satisfy production schedules and ensure plant efficiency is maintained at the highest possible level while meeting or exceeding quality requirements for our products
  • Continuously monitor and control the quality of products and manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to specifications
  • Address quality issues in production, conduct root causes analysis;
  • Work inter-departmentally to drive continuous process improvement and implement new methods
  • Confer with Engineering and Quality team to resolve questions and problems related to manufacturing processes, design specifications or equipment
  • Provide accurate information for plant production and scheduling through timely reporting and recordkeeping
  • Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop the best economic strategy for production planning to support customer demand
  • Maintain positive employee and management relations within the guidelines of company policy.
  • Lead employees in the more complex phases of their work and complete job training, cross training in lean manufacturing and Kaizen principles.
  • Guide and advise production team on plant floor.
  • Maintain adherence to high standards of safety and housekeeping in compliance with company policies and governmental regulations
  • EHS reporting.
  • Performance review and disciplinary actions that may be required for direct reports in partnership with Human Resources.

Skills & Requirements

A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and supervision as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Fundamental electrical conceptual knowledge, electrical products or electronics
  • Knowledge of marine/electrical processes, process optimization, quality, inspection methods and standards
  • Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Lean and/or Continuous Improvement manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems
  • Good working knowledge of warehousing, shipping, production and inventory control
