Job Description
The Executive Director, Accounts Payable is responsible for the establishment and successful operation of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) processing team within the Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization.
Responsibilities include development of strong relationships with all P2P stakeholders; department budgeting and forecasting; goal development; selection, development, and deployment of P2P solutions; staffing selection, motivation, development and retention; P2P policy and procedures; achieving quarterly cash flow requirements; SOX controls; internal and external audit support; development, tracking and reporting of P2P key performance indicators (KPI’s) and service level agreements (SLA’s) and establishment of a continuous improvement culture.
Duties are performed using a wide application of procedures requiring the use of accounting principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Solves problems of significant scope and complexity. Participates in and leads key company projects aligned with FSS strategic direction.
This is a hybrid position, so we are looking for candidates who are comfortable and available to come in to our office at 15955 La Cantera Pkwy San Antonio, TX 78256 2-3 days per week. Mondays and Fridays are work from home.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages P2P teams in San Antonio, TX and Livonia, MI including, but not limited to, performance evaluations, individual/team goals and development areas – all of which encourage and empower others to achieve desired financial results, meet internal customer expectations & requirements, and meet external customer requirements.
- Lead P2P project teams: In concert with an overall long-term vision for P2P direction, prepare project concepts, participate in collaboration with other departments and present project proposals to Vericast leadership. Lead project teams to develop and deploy technology solutions that are aligned with the vision.
- Support cash flow targets; Support company cash flow targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Planning, forecasting and goal setting: Work closely with FSS leadership and Financial Planning & Analysis to plan the financial budget for P2P as well as on-going quarterly forecasts in alignment with the overall FSS budget process. Agree annual goals with FSS leadership and develop and deploy individual P2P team members goals aligned with the overall P2P objectives.
- P2P KPI’s and SLA’s: Define and track P2P Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement metrics to support quarterly management reporting, tracking P2P effectiveness and efficiency and to enable participation and comparison to benchmark standards.
- Policy and procedures: Develop new policies and procedures, update/maintain existing policies and procedures, promote an environment of continuous improvement and improve P2P effectiveness and efficiency. Maintain and define new or revised internal controls to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Accounting/Finance/Business Degree with 10 years of accounting, financial or business management experience.
- Advanced degrees or certifications desired including Masters in Accounting/Finance or Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous management experience required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley required.
- Experience in analyzing financial accounts and implementing improvements with senior management, management of team members, financial measurement and reporting.
- Knowledge of end-to-end process management.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
