Position Overview: 

The Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission is searching for an Administrative Assistant to add to the team that performs a variety of highly responsible administrative and clerical tasks to support the operations of the Self-Insurance Department. The role involves processing company workloads using the Self-Insurance Plus system, assisting with the day-to-day functions of the self-insurance program, and serving as a key point of contact for stakeholders including employers and insurance professionals. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities. Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission offers a robust benefit package including:

Essential Functions

  • Manages assigned company workload utilizing Self-Insurance Plus system to administer the self-insurance program.  
  • Uses the assigned systems to perform job duties.  
  • Assists in the operation of the self-insurance program.  
  • Communicates with stakeholders.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, ensuring alignment with the responsibilities outlined above. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  • Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or
