About the RoleAs a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be part of a successful team that consistently achieves excellent results and fosters a strong team culture. Your primary responsibility will be to support revenue accounting operations and play a crucial role in the monthly closing process. By working collaboratively, you will ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting, you will contribute to process improvement initiatives as Highspot continues to grow and develop.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in all aspects of the revenue month-end close process, including creating journal entries, performing account reconciliations and flux analyses, and preparing disclosures and reporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance and proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and any other related guidance.
  • Perform contract analysis review and prepare related revenue schedules to verify contracts have been accurately recorded.
  • Work actively with our internal business teams to ensure all revenue-impacting activities of the Company, including new product launches and business initiatives, are identified and assessed for proper revenue recognition conclusions.
  • Assist in designing and expanding revenue accounting procedures, including revenue recognition, deal structuring, and deferred revenue for Highspot products.
  • Develop and document processes and controls, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and increase automation for faster and more efficient monthly revenue closing.
  • Participate in system implementations or enhancement projects, working closely with internal business teams to drive automation.
  • Support external audit needs related to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects as required.

Your Background

  • 5 years of accounting experience with 2 years specific to revenue accounting; CPA certification is a plus.
  • BA or BS in Accounting or Finance 
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) in relation to but not limited to SaaS, Professional Services, Contract Modifications, SSP, Terminations for Convenience, and contract review. 
  • Experience working for a fast-paced SaaS organization
  • Ability to review and interpret contracts
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, while also comfortable navigating through ambiguous situations.
  • Goal-oriented, taking individual responsibility for delivering quality work within specified timelines.
  • Proficiency in handling large data sets and intermediate Excel functions; experience with advanced database and query tools is a plus.

Base salary range: $90,000 - $134,000 Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.
