About the role

The Assistant Director of Finance is an integral part of the Finance Division, who, together with the Director of Finance, collectively safeguards the hotel assets and financial resources to ensure all are utilized to maximize hotel profitability.

This position reports to the Director of Finance and is a key Department Head role. The Fort Lauderdale property is part of a shared services collection that has common ownership and encompasses the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach and Four Seasons Hotel & Residences at The Surf Club. While this position is not a shared services role, the ability to embrace and collaborate while aligning efficiencies with all hotels is essential.

This position requires someone who already has Assistant Director of Finance experience and who is ready to take on a second assignment, and someone who has a clear goal of becoming a Director of Finance with Four Seasons.

This hotel has a residential component. Prior experience in a mixed-use residential hotel is preferred.

What you will do

The primary responsibilities for this position are to ensure the Finance team to provide timely and accurate financial information and counsel to hotel leadership, ensuring the hotel operates within all related local and corporate policies and procedures under the terms of the Management Agreement.

What you bring

•    College degree in Finance required (major in Accounting or Finance). At least 2 – 5 years of finance management experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.

•    Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership experience.

•    Working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food and Beverage control. Understanding of USALI.

•    Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Strategic, analytical, and have solid business acumen.

•    Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Excel and Opera systems is ideal.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
