The Federal Security Manager I will be responsible for providing a visual security presence to ensure visitors, clients, and employees have a safe and pleasant experience while inside the facility; deter and detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal behavior; assist and support the Facility Security Officer in administering and enforcing security measures necessary for implementing requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Government security regulations, contractual security requirements and company security policies and procedures. This position will work day hours Monday – Friday and report directly to the Regional Manager, Federal Security.
This role requires on-site work hours to support a 24X7X365 data center environment and is not eligible for remote and/or hybrid work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Frontline supervision of contracted security staff and daily security operations
Implement and execute security measures for adherence to Government and company security policies and procedures
Ensures all security systems are fully functional to include Access Control, Visitor Management, Service Now, and CCTV
Aids with investigations of security violations, suspected compromises, and security related matters
Proactively informs management of security related developments, anomalies, and situations that affect the security posture of the facility
Creates, assigns, and issues facility access badges to authorized personnel
Responds to all emergencies, such as medical, fire, intrusions, and other threats
Implements emergency response plans and evacuation procedures, which includes conducting fire evacuation drills
Ensures all security equipment is kept in excellent working condition through regular inspection and by following QTS preventative maintenance programs
Ensures all inventories are received in correct unit count and good condition
Ensures security patrols are completed in accordance with QTS policies and procedures
Conducts regular training for security staff
Conducts security briefings for QTS staff, customers, contractors, and sub-contractor construction personnel
Develop and maintain working relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement as well as Fire and EMS
Perform security officer duties as needed to ensure efficient operations and guest service standards are met
Provide reports as needed for internal and external audits
Program CCTVs
Provides customers with monthly reports
Provides Operations leadership with monthly reports
Runs monthly capital labor reports
Runs monthly badge change reports
Maintains and manages Key Watcher System, adds new customers, takes inventory, and investigates discrepancies
Updates customers space/location and key inventory logs
Works closely with the Operations Service Center to resolve ticketing issues and functions as an onsite advisor
Performs weekly backups
Reviews End of Service and labor tracking reports
Directs the provisioning/deprovisioning of contracted security officers
Trains, manages, and supports contracted guard personnel to provide quality customer service interactions
Ensures contracted guard service models QTS culture and lives QTS customer creed
Performs additional security duties and responsibilities as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Ten or more years of professional experience
Five or more years of related experience in Physical Security Management
US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Fifteen or more years of professional experience
Ten or more years of related experience in Physical Security Management
