USC’s Rossier School of Education seeks an analytical, customer service-driven, self-motived, full-time Department Business Manager to join the Business Operations unit. The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education (pronounced “ross-EAR”) is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research, and policy. As a member of the team, the Department Business Manager plays a key role in the school's continued success.
Reporting to the Senior Business Officer, this person will be responsible for providing critical support to the day-to-day financial operations of the Rossier School of Education. These support functions include but are not limited to:
Supervises the day-to-day transactional functions of the Rossier School of Education.
Assists with setting up accounts, preparing, processing, and/ or reviewing paperwork for payroll, reimbursements, requisitions, contract agreements, and any required budget/business forms.
Oversee a team of business/budget analysts, student workers, and their day-to-day responsibilities.
Manages corporate card accounts for procurement and travel card holders, including reviewing outstanding balances and requests for card changes.
Inputs financial data and reconciles internal records to university financial reports every month. Identifies errors, researches solutions, and initiates corrective actions.
Initiates and monitors expenditures for intercampus and external vendors, such as travel, purchasing equipment, and hiring staff or students. Interfaces with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and external vendors to resolve any discrepancies.
Assists departments and SBO with fiscal year-end and budget planning.
Preferred Experience:
Three or more years of relevant work experience
Preferred Field of Expertise:
University budget experience and knowledge of university financial systems (Workday, Jaggaer Marketplace, Cognos & Concur)
Knowledge of University financial /budget policies and procedures
This position's annual base salary range is $110,000-$120,000. Minimum Field of Expertise: Business administration, accounting or related degree and budget experience including knowledge of government and fund accounting. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
