About the role

The Assistant Director of Nursing/Staff Development Coordinator is a self-motivated professional Registered Nurse and serves as a clinical role model within the Long-Term Care (LTC) Nursing unit. This individual accepts 24-hour responsibility for the unit in collaboration with the Director of Nursing. They are accountable for the nursing management of the LTC unit to assure delivery of quality care for the well-being of residents on the unit and assists in maintaining a positive clinical environment to promote cohesiveness within the unit, department, and organization. This individual actively participates in facility-wide committees, maintains current standards of nursing practices and ensures adherence to Facility State and Federal regulations. This person also maintains clinical systems within the Care Center, promotes quality care delivery by all providers and demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior for the clinical environment, including, but not limited to, respect for the residents’ dignity, rights, privacy, age and other specific care needs, and maintenance of confidentiality of information. They will demonstrate a leadership style that supports and directs staff while fostering participative, autonomous, and achievement-oriented behavior. Available to work variable hours, nights, days, or weekends as required by staffing needs. Additional duties include planning and coordinating ongoing educational updates for the Long-Term Care RNs, LPNs and CNAs. They will have primary responsibility for coordinating / teaching CNA classes and providing for CNA orientation. Other duties include managerial and supervisory assistance and participation in rotational weekend call.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice professional nursing by the Montana State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years nursing experience with at least one (1) year in Long-Term Care.
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities by progressive supervisory experience.
  • Experienced in staff education and program planning.
  • Experienced in geriatric nursing.
  • Knowledge of long-term care and employment regulations.
  • Possess required certification/credentials to train and test CNAs, i.e., Headmaster instructor/proctor.

Starting pay range varies based on experience up to 15 years.
