Credit Risk Analytics Sr. Professional – Residential Real Estate
Citizens Bank is looking for highly quantitative, results oriented individual to build and optimize credit strategies in support of Residential Real Estate Lending. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key Credit Risk project execution across lifecycle activities of the Mortgage business. The ideal candidate will leverage their exceptional data and analytical skills along with their knowledge of residential real estate secured lending products to analyze large and complex data sets and seek actionable insights, optimize processes, and drive strategic decisions. You will also assist in the management of the bank's lending portfolio, implementing decision rules, underwriting models, strategies, and monthly reporting. The lead will also have strong credit and business acumen as well as communication skills to synthesize analytical findings and provide senior leaders with actionable recommendations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Interface with partners across Product, Capital Markets, Operations, MSR, and Sales in support of strategic business initiatives and continuous optimization of credit strategy.
- Monitor origination and portfolio performance for the purposes of optimizing risk adjusted returns. Monitoring includes, but is not limited to, identifying deviations from expectations, diagnosing root cause, and proposing corrective actions.
- Develop business cases and credit policy recommendations and coordinate approval and implementation through internal governance.
- Exercise strategic vision to identify and drive credit optimization efforts.
- Own and manage the monitoring of existing processes to identify improvements that contribute to a more effective and efficient operating environment.
- Provide an independent assessment of the quality, quantity, direction, and overall credit risk in the organization through planned reviews.
- Manage small team of Credit Risk Professionals in support of the above.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Consumer Credit experience – ideally aligned with Residential Mortgage/Equity lending.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility and build strong relationships with business partners in working on cross-functional projects.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under aggressive timelines.
- 3+ years of demonstrated application of quantitative skills in a lending environment.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a quantitative role utilizing statistical programing languages – SAS preferred, R, or Python.
- Experience with data visualization such as Tableau.
- Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, glean and form insights under aggressive timelines.
- Ability to drive actionable outcomes from analytical insight and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to business leadership.
- Ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives.
- Track record of ownership, high degree of intellectual curiosity and a results-driven attitude.
- Exceptional problem-solving acumen with ability to think strategically.
- Prior management experience preferred.
Hours and Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00am -5:00pm, Monday - Friday
Position is hybrid in a Citizens office location, onsite 4 days/week.
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $143,705 - $215,558 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
