WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Reporting to the VP of Investments & Platform you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering a best-in-class experience for 43North portfolio companies, their founders, and teams; creating opportunities to educate founders and their teams, host forums for dialogues around growth and improvement, and make time to celebrate company wins and milestones. As Manager of Experience and Events, you’ll be responsible for event logistics, managing vendors and budgets to ensure events run smoothly, meet 43North objectives, and leave a lasting impact on attendees.
This critical role provides an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to help 43North ensure that our portfolio founders feel integrated into the 43North family, while also serving the larger Western NY startup ecosystem, fostering a sense of community.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as a concierge for our program, ensuring our founders are connected with services for both business relationships and to help them feel comfortable in their move to Western NY
• Build and maintain relationships across the local business community to drive opportunities for collaboration and engagement
• Manage event schedules, contracts, and external partners
• Work collaboratively with members of the 43North team to ensure execution against our event program strategy and effectively communicate upcoming events to drive participation and engagement
• Maintain effective communication both internally and externally to ensure alignment on timelines and support needs
• Building and maintaining rapport with founders and fellow 43N co-workers
• Engage with community partners to stay informed of local wins and new projects that are helping to life the city of Buffalo

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• A proactive mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Outgoing personality with the ability to create exceptional experiences, ensuring seamless execution and high participant satisfaction
• Experience in event management, project management, or a related field
• Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external needs and deadlines
• Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate internal teams and vendors effectively
• Intellectually curious by nature
• Eagerness to live and work locally in Buffalo, NY, with a passion for the city itself and a desire to help grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem
