Computational Science and Informatics (CSI) R&D excels in delivering rigorous and clinically actionable data analytics and insights across our Diagnostics product portfolio. The Opportunity   

• Practice, develop and refine requirements of long-term, complex sequencing software applications in accordance with overall project goals

• Partners with business, technology subject-matter experts and software leads to elicit and translate business requirements into software solutions

• Make major contributions to strategic directions and projects through knowledge of technology and its creative applications

• Design and execute spikes or proofs of concept to test complex hypotheses related project outcomes; extract the full relevance of technical observations and provide that information back to the team

• Technically lead and mentor engineers in projects to understand and deliver software solutions to meet business requirements

• Drives and collaborates with other software leads, solution architects, hardware and software architects to provide a consensus based scalable and adaptable software solution, and promote use of shared components across solutions

Who You Are:  

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 10 years of experience. You have a Masters’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 9 years of experience  or you have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience.  

• You have 6 plus years' of experience in relevant bioinformatics tools and libraries 

• You have strong proficiency in Java, with knowledge of scientific computing programming languages like Python and/or R

• You have a background in working in NGS projects 

• You have experience with parallel computing, optimization, and performance tuning.

• You have experience with deeply understanding and optimizing complex algorithms.

• You have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred

• You have experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, CLIA)

• You have proven experience in developing bioinformatics algorithms for NGS data analysis. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Montana  is 157,500-292.500  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
