Description
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical vascular surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery for vascular surgery or eligible for such certification or foreign equivalent. Candidates with fellowship training will be preferred.
Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, residents, fellows and others in the operating room, on inpatient rounds and in the outpatient clinic. The successful candidate may participate in other academic opportunities including education of vascular fellows and residents as well as general surgical residents and medical students as they present themselves.
Clinical responsibilities may include the full range of open vascular and endovascular surgery procedures in a tertiary-care hospital outfitted with a hybrid OR.
The holder of this position will serve as Director of the Vascular Surgery Venous Treatment Program and will work to develop and lead a robust practice in ambulatory evaluation and treatment of venous disease.
