Are you ready to lead the charge in data governance and privacy compliance within our US Commercial organization? As the Director of Data Governance and Privacy Compliance, you'll be at the forefront of developing and implementing strategies that ensure data quality, security, compliance, and privacy. This pivotal role demands collaboration with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of data integrity and accountability. Based in Boston, you'll report to the Executive Director of Strategic Data Management and Advanced Analytics, driving alignment with broader business objectives while managing US data privacy concerns. Accountabilities
Data Governance Strategy & Framework:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures for the commercial organization.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Promote data literacy and understanding of data governance principles within the commercial organization.
- Data Quality & Integrity:
- Monitor data quality and integrity across commercial data assets, identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement data quality controls and metrics to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with data owners and stewards to address data quality issues and implement solutions.
Data Security, Compliance & US Privacy:
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including managing US data privacy concerns.
- Develop and implement privacy measures to protect sensitive commercial data.
- Monitor, assess, and address data privacy risks, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations like HIPAA and CCPA.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and standard processes in US data privacy to proactively adjust governance and privacy policies.
- Effectively communicate data privacy requirements to all partners and provide necessary training.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
- Build positive relationships with commercial partners, including data owners, data stewards, and business users.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, commercial teams, the Privacy team, and Patient Services to build and maintain a centralized data management repository.
- Collaborate with the Privacy team to ensure all data governance policies adhere to privacy regulations and protect personal and sensitive data.
- Work with Patient Services to ensure data governance policies consider patient needs and improve the patient experience.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on data governance policies, compliance requirements, and privacy considerations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data governance and compliance-related inquiries.
Data Management & Technology:
- Stay abreast of USA industry trends and standard processes in data governance and data management.
- Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and technologies to support the commercial organization.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data governance requirements are met.
Essential Skills/Experience
- High School Diploma/equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 10+ years in data governance, compliance, and privacy, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors, with proven expertise in US data privacy regulations.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, master data management principles, data quality, and data management tools (e.g., ETL, data warehousing, BI tools).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data for strategic insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and fast-paced environment!
Desirable Skills/Experience
- In-depth knowledge of US data privacy regulations such as HIPAA, CCPA, and other relevant compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
