About the role
This is a remote position.
Schedule:- Monday to Thursday 8:30 am - 5:30 am with an hour unpaid lunch and Fri 9 am to 12:00 pm
- 35 hours per week
- Centennial, CO timezone
Job Summary:
The Medical Scribe will work closely with healthcare providers to accurately document patient encounters in real-time during clinical visits. The scribe's primary role is to relieve providers of clerical duties and ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system, allowing providers to focus more on direct patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently document patient history, physical exams, procedures, clinical tests, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care as dictated by the provider.
- Input data into the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain up-to-date and complete medical records.
- Assist providers in navigating EHR systems, locating patient information, lab results, imaging studies, and other relevant records.
- Track lab and imaging orders and follow up on results to expedite patient care.
- Prepare referral letters, patient discharge summaries, and other documentation as directed.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all patient information following HIPAA regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between the provider and other departments as needed.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks as assigned to support the efficiency of the healthcare team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience as a medical scribe, medical assistant, or in healthcare documentation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in typing and computer skills; experience with EHR systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
