The SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR) Deputy Software Lead position for the SPY-6 Design Agent (DA) program offers the opportunity to drive successful execution of technical, schedule, and cost performance goals as well as interaction with program and functional leadership, the Navy, and other stakeholders. This position requires clear communication of program status, issues, and resolutions to leadership on matters with significant program impact.
This position is full-time on-site in Marlborough or Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
What You Will Do
Support the Software Lead in coordinating resources in alignment with the Capability and Product Lead (CPL) and ensuring functional staffing for the SPY-6 funded Shared Software Factory (SFF).
Assist in tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward program goals and provides support in resolving inter-team software conflicts related to task prioritization and development.
Collaborate with functional managers, under the guidance of the Software Lead, to facilitate funding, travel, and personnel resource allocation in support of TDOAs.
Work with the Software Chief Product Owner to assist in prioritizing program capability development in accordance with the portfolio planning process.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams, reinforcing the principles set forth by the Software Lead.
Aid in ensuring that software deliverables meet technical, quality, and performance standards. They act as a liaison to support cross-functional communication with Systems Engineering & Test Coordination (SE&TC) for software development activities.
Support the Software Lead in overseeing software financial reporting, SW staffing for the Family of Radars program office, and assisting with the Customer Software Configuration Control Board (CCB).
Contribute to estimating software development efforts, providing inputs to program EACs and LREs per assigned SOW scope, and ensuring alignment with the Software Lead’s direction.
Help drive software functional initiatives within the program (e.g., TDMC, metrics modernization) and supports managing assigned SOW scope within allocated budget/CLIN funding, ensuring deliverables and CDRLs are produced to meet specified timelines and quality standards.
Work closely with the Products LSE and Capability Products Lead to ensure effective CDRL delivery while maintaining alignment with program objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience using C and C++ or Java.
Experience in Agile software development methodologies and use of Scrum for software development.
Experience in leadership roles as well as technical and management roles.
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to manage program execution.
