We are seeking a detail-oriented and
analytical Asset Engineer to support the effective management of physical assets and contribute to capital project planning and delivery for our Engineering Plastics Compounding plant. The Asset Engineer will be responsible for capital projects as the manufacturing representative, requiring a strong engineering background, a keen understanding of manufacturing processes, project management skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement. As the Asset Engineer, you will manage and optimize the lifecycle of production assets and ensure that equipment and machinery operate at peak efficiency, reliability and safety while adhering to industry standards and BASF regulations and policies.

- Ensuring compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements and promoting a safe working environment for project execution.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as the plant’s manufacturing representative to assess technical specifications and engineering, design requirements, procurement needs for new assets, and upgrades to existing assets to enhance efficiency, reliability and productivity.
- Providing technical expertise and support to operations and maintenance teams regarding equipment performance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Identifying opportunities and taking action to continuously improve production and project processes.
- Executing all capital projects safely and within budget / timeline.
- Driving and implementing MOCs (Management of Change) and contributing to plant BHA (PHA/HAZOP) clean sheet and revalidation studies with corrective action execution.
If you...
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, other)
- Possess 3-5 years of professional experience in a chemical or related manufacturing operation.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively while managing multiple projects at one time.
- Have a strong understanding and application of RAGAGEP
- Have an understanding of plastics compounding processes and associated machinery (preferred)
- Have demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Are proficient in basic computer skills including MS Office.
- Are proficient with SAP PPM and CMMS systems preferred.
- Have an understanding and application of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies and practices (preferred).
