JOB SUMMARY
Works under the direction of an Investigator(s) with general supervision, to provide ongoing data management for local and national research studies and may coordinate observational (non-treatment/treatment) trials/studies. May provide supporting role for more complex studies under the direction of the PI, Clinical Research Coordinator and/or Clinical Research Lead. 
 

The Clinical Research Assistant supports low-complexity clinical trials by coordinating and scheduling research visits, assisting with screening, recruitment, and informed consent under supervision, and ensuring protocol adherence. Key responsibilities include reviewing medical records for eligibility, entering and verifying data in case report forms and databases, resolving data queries, and maintaining accurate study documentation. The role also involves assisting with regulatory submissions and IRB reports, preparing for audits, ordering and maintaining study supplies, and supporting study close-out activities. With appropriate training, the assistant may collect and process specimens, perform basic clinical procedures such as vital signs, phlebotomy, or EKGs, and provide limited patient care under PI supervision. Overall, the position requires attention to detail, adherence to Good Clinical Practice, and direct interaction with patients, participants, and research records to ensure compliance and data integrity.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

  • Education
    High School Diploma or 
    Associate's Degree in medical or science related field or 
    Bachelor's Degree medical or science related field and no prior experience 
     
  • Experience
    2 years experience with High School Diploma or 
    1 year experience with Associate's Degree 
     

Preferred

  • Licenses and Certifications
    (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT may be required based on affiliate location requirements. 
    (CPRAED) CPR AED may be required based on affiliate location requirements.
