Summary:
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Programs, the Senior Director is responsible for fiscal and programmatic oversight, including budget management, staff supervision, capacity-building, grants/contract compliance, and performance management to ensure delivery of high-quality senior services programs to eligible clients. The Senior Director will oversee two federal grant programs, Foster Grandparent Program and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); along with other senior services programs and initiatives including Adopt-A-Senior program. Their goal will be to increase the impact the agency makes on older adults and expand programming by building capacity.
Position Responsibilities:
Administration:
- *Develop and maintain program budget in consultation with appropriate staff members to ensure compliance to federal and nonfederal grant regulations including programmatic and fiscal oversight
- *Prepare performance, fiscal, and statistical reports for necessary positions, funding sources, and other external stakeholders
- *Ensure program compliance with policies, procedures, and performance outcomes established by funders, accrediting bodies, and Catholic Charities.
- Develop and maintain a productive work environment and manage administrative functions
- Responsible for on-going monitoring of program budgets and expenses, including budget revisions when appropriate
- Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Program Management:
- *Oversee day-to-day operations of Senior Services programs
- *Develop program-wide and individualized work plans and training plans to ensure high-quality service delivery and to develop staff competencies
- *Ensure maintenance of confidential files and record-keeping systems.
- *Identify, gather and analyze data relative to local trends, and needs of the community in regard to older adults
- Develop and monitor systems for efficient workflow and financial tracking
- Prepare grant applications and implement grant-funded projects
- Enhance management and leadership skills through participation in meetings, seminars, and conferences
- Develop partnerships with external stakeholders to increase agency capacity to deliver older adults and behavioral health services
- Contribute to the development of new initiatives for the program and agency
- Other duties as assigned
Outreach/Relationships:
- *Represent Catholic Charities in an appropriate and professional manner to external stakeholders
- *Conduct presentations in a variety of community settings to recruit volunteers
- Develop and maintain contacts with stakeholders in the social service and education fields
- Develop and maintain relationship with funders, non-governmental, and governmental entities
- Participate in community committees/coalitions as appropriate
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- *This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees.
- *Responsible to construct and implement employee development plans for program employees.
- *Responsible to evaluate performance and provide timely feedback
- Must ensure the completion of all required professional development assignments in a timely manner for their direct reports,
- Must complete all required professional develop assignments in a timely manner
- Ensure staff compliance with program policies and procedures
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
