About the role

Job Description

The Digital Merchandising Senior Manager is responsible for achieving Nordstrom (Nordstrom.com) customer outcomes which are predominately focused on driving product sales. The Senior Manager achieves these outcomes through driving the entire digital customer experience from strategy through execution. As digital customer interactions support the majority of Nordstrom customer outcomes, the Senior Manager is primarily focused on driving digital customer interactions, complemented by off-line strategies based on customer goals. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Working cross-functionally with expert teams, the Digital Merchandising Senior Manager supports the entire customer journey that enables us to hit our sales goals for Scaled Events (Anniversary, Holiday, Seasonal Sales) and Cross-Divisional Priorities (including Styling and Services), this includes: 

  • Working with Merchants, Price teams, and Scaled Events to drive our product strategy. 

  • Connecting our product strategy to our overall customer goals. 

  • Developing our Nordstrom.com navigation & merchandising strategy. 

  • Driving the Nordstrom.com features & functionality strategy. 

  • Developing our content messaging strategy. 

  • Supporting reporting & optimization roadmap for AOR. 

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for declaring clear objectives & key results (OKRs) and providing a strategy to achieve those OKRs. With a comprehensive strategy and execution plan they work with their team on a day-to-day basis to execute with excellence. While they support the day-to-day operations they rarely directly execute on strategies, instead focus on operationalizing the resources, training, partnerships, processes, and platforms needed to achieve their OKRs. Sr. Managers are focused on strategy development and securing operational resources 3 to 12 months out from live date. The Sr. Manager supports a team comprised of Manager(s), Sr. Specialist(s), and Specialist(s). 

 

 

Qualifications 

 

The Digital Merchandising and Marketing Senior Manager is a unique role as it spans the entire customer experience combining multiple functional disciplines and skillsets. The ideal Senior Manager may not have all the needed experience listed below and may need to learn some aspects of the role quickly. However, the Senior Manager does need to have extensive command of several of the disciplines below when entering the role:  

  • 8+ years professional experience in large matrixed organization, 2+ years experience leading and developing teams.  

  • Proven competency aligning product goals back to customer strategy.
