Trading and Commercial Operator (Metals, Copper)

Revenues in 2023 were $400bn.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>The Operators are responsible for issuance and management of all documents related to a transaction as well as follow up of financial documentation, vessels from loading to delivery. There are various different commodity groups (crude oil, distillates (gasoil, diesel &amp; jet), fuel oil, gasoline, naphtha, LPG, bitumen, thermal coal &amp; metals) with operators reporting to the operations manager in Rotterdam.</p><p>The Trading and Commercial Operator plays - a key role - in our company and is responsible for the operation and execution of the trading contract, taking over the operation from the trader.</p><p>Some of the responsibilities are:</p><ul><li>Completing trade transactional follow-up with counterparties</li><li>Day to day operation of contracts (issuance, checking, amendments and follow-up)</li><li>Preparing, checking, amending and follow-up of finance documents; documentary credits, bid bonds, payment undertaking, invoices etc.</li><li>Preparing vessel's nominations and documentary instructions (B/L’s, C of Origin, customs documents)</li><li>Negotiating key logistical and commercial terms</li><li>Assisting in P&amp;L control by managing operational changes in the systems</li><li>Quantity and quality issue resolution</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p>The ideal candidate would have all of the experience points referenced below, however, the role is somewhat unique in where it sits between typical trading operations and back office, therefore we appreciate that some candidates may have the occasional gap</p><ul><li>At least 5 years of experience with physical operations or logistics (both shipping and quality issues)</li><li>Experience in copper and other metals is an advantage</li><li>Experience in commodity trading, oil, logistics and shipping</li><li>Knowledge about GTCs, contracts, letters of credit, etc.</li><li>Trade finance knowledge is a plus</li><li>Advanced excel skills is required</li><li>Fluent in English is a must</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>A role at the centre of the company business with new challenges daily</li><li>An international company with offices in Singapore, London, Geneva, Houston and the possibility to work abroad.</li><li>A flat and approachable organization.</li><li>An excellent working atmosphere: Friday drinks and regular office socials</li><li>A competitive compensation and benefits package (Bonus, Pension &amp; Insurance)</li><li>27 days of paid annual leave.</li><li>Bespoke inhouse training focused on developing skills and substantive knowledge with scope for external training where needed and appropriate</li></ul>
