Compensation Range:

$60,431.00 - $84,603.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

General Purpose:
Supports academic and community programs by overseeing a variety of initiatives designed for diverse audiences, including PreK-12 students and teachers, colleges, universities, homeschools, informal educators, and outreach efforts. Manages the development, coordination, oversight, and implementation of key programs, including community partnerships, educator workshops, and outreach programs. Creates educator resources to enhance engagement with collections and ensures effective communication and promotion of programs. Coordinates program evaluations, fosters partnerships with local school districts and educators, and builds a supportive network. Collaborates with teams to define teaching and learning goals aligned with institutional missions and exhibitions, emphasizing accessibility, excellence, and innovation. Manages program budgets, monitors expenses, and tracks program goals and revenue.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages educator-focused initiatives, including workshops, events, advisory councils, and outreach efforts. Coordinates logistics, curriculum, and partnerships for existing and new programs targeting various educational audiences. Collaborates with teams to ensure effective communication, enrollment, and staff management. Partners with marketing teams to create promotional materials and supports visibility at community events. Builds and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders to advance the organization's mission.
  • Designs, organizes, and facilitates professional development opportunities for educators. Plans and coordinates key events, including educator open houses, appreciation weeks, and advisory meetings. Develops and distributes educational resources, such as newsletters and teaching tools. Creates both tactile and virtual resources for classroom use. Manages long-term collaborative educational partnerships. Coordinates logistics, builds partnerships, communicates with educators, and oversees program implementation. Hires, trains, and schedules staff. Develops curricula, manages schedules, and ensures timely evaluations.
  • Manages community outreach efforts. Supervises outreach and teaching assistant staff and handles planning, logistics, and data collection. Collaborates on grant submissions, writes reports, and ensures equitable access for participants. Builds relationships with local educators, districts, and community organizations, ensuring programs are accessible and inclusive. 
    Works closely with leadership to manage budgeting processes for programs, track expenses, and ensure alignment with financial goals. Monitors program costs, manages supplies, and allocates financial resources efficiently. Submits financial reports and supports funding applications.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in fine arts, arts administration, education (formal or informal) and/or project management and 5 years of experience teaching or leading workshops for adult learners required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Master’s Degree preferably in fine arts, arts administration, education (formal or informal), project management and/or business administration preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of current best practices in classroom teaching and a keen understanding of educational guidelines and standards for the State of New York and the Rochester City School District preferred.
