Prepares, inspects, assembles and sterilizes surgical instruments/equipment according to hospital and departmental procedures. Provides a continuous flow of sterile supplies, equipment and instrumentation to all areas of Children's Hospital.

  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills acquired through the completion of a high school education.

  • One year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech preferred.

  • Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) preferred with certification to be obtained no later than 18 months after hire.

  • Analytical ability to learn and differentiate different types of instruments, supplies and equipment.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with physicians, nursing staff and patients/families.

  • Ability to stand and maneuver equipment for extended periods of time.

  • Knowledge of complex instrumentation preferred.

  • Basic knowledge and skill of computer use.

Second shift hours 3:00pm to 11:30pm

This position also participates in a rotating weekend and Holiday.
