Position Overview
The Innovation Refrigeration Specialist will drive the execution of the refrigeration research agenda and act as a recognized subject matter expert within and outside the organization. This role will assess and identify new technologies and solutions to establish breakthrough beverage equipment technologies for the existing and emerging beverage portfolio. This role will be accountable for assessing technologies, proposing routes to new cooling mechanisms and routines optimization, and leveraging external technology from other markets. The role will interact with internal project teams, external vendors, suppliers to propose new solutions and implement in a scalable fashion.
What You’ll Do for Us:
Apply subject matter expertise in refrigeration design (vapor compressor system) and system performance optimization with control routines, thermodynamics and transport phenomena across Global Engineering.
Provide relevant and timely technology assessments for TCCC leadership on existing and new thermal technologies, applying scientific and engineering principles to further fundamental understanding of technologies and apply to experimental design to develop corresponding data.
Lead development work in emerging platforms with internal teams, external vendors, suppliers, universities, and design agencies.
Establish credibility with highly technical audiences to build technical relationships that will benefit customers or the Company, ensuring progress and maximizing value to the system.
Engineering Analysis: Apply analytical engineering tools, including critical path problem solving, fault tree analysis, and root cause failure analysis, to determine design feasibility and identify sources of variation from designed performance specifications.
Contribute as an individual contributor who acts as a recognized subject matter expert within and outside of the organization. Coaches lower-level professionals in skills, delegates work to them and reviews it.
Qualification & Requirements:
Mechanical engineering degree or comparable, Masters preferred
5-10 years of experience in R&D and design or commercialization in areas of equipment or engineering
Thought leader mastering specific professional discipline / area of expertise combining broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories, techniques and/or technologies with organizational practice across several different disciplines within a function.
Experienced in facilitating & driving consumer needs-based concepts and linking with existing or emerging technologies to develop winning business solutions.
Expert knowledge of physical phenomena, thermodynamics, mass & energy transfer, basic controls & algorithms for performance system optimization and engineering design
Track record of developing and commercializing significant new technologies to solve & drive business objectives.
IP and Confidentiality: Experience managing confidentiality, handling agreements, and comfort with advanced patent searching techniques. The ideal candidate will have multiple patents/ applications for commercialized technology.
Communication and influence within own job function and outside function with all levels of leadership, including executive leadership Relationship Management (vendors, suppliers) and stakeholder management • Define, Develop and Execute Winning Solutions for Equipment Research & Development: bringing insights, technological opportunities, BU/ Bottler capability, business case creation/ validation, risk assessment, and management, leveraging the power of our System and its people.
