POSITION SUMMARY
Corporate Financial Accounting (“CFA”) is a headquarter-based accounting department responsible for the Corporate Discipline accounting and reporting relating to various complex topics including, but not limited to, Marriott’s investment, program & services accounting, development, joint venture, foreign exchange, debt, Environment, Social, and Governance (“ESG”), and capital market activities.
As a member of the Corporate Financial Accounting Team, the Director will partner with other Marriott colleagues to execute various financial and operational management processes that support financial and other business objectives, including playing an integral role in the review of new or changes to existing program & services. In this review process, the Director will work with Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and different discipline leaders to ensure that the accounting position is in compliance with MI policies and US GAAP. The Director will also be responsible for creating accounting processes to meet internal controls requirements, while also allowing for the flexibility to accommodate evolving future business needs. He/she will establish and maintain strong relationships with the FBPs and Dsicipline teams to help effectively address business issues, identify, and implement appropriate solutions, influence, as appropriate, business decisions, and improve overall business results. He/she will also partner with Financial Control Compliance (FCC) Team to ensure that Cost Reimbursements are properly accounted for and reported.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
• Develop strong trusting relationships with other disciplines within and outside of Global Finance, such as Financial Contract Compliance (FCC), Consumer Operations (CO), Accounting Policy Group (APG), Finance Business Partner (FBP), and Continent business teams
• Lead the development and implementation of the enhanced end to end accounting processes related to program & services and/or charge code set up process in partnership with FCC and CO Controllers
• Collaborate with Marriott Business Services (MBS) and other Disciplines, as appropriate, to provide routine and ad-hoc accounting consultation and analysis related to program & services revenue recognition process
• Lead the discussions with FBP, Continent teams and business, as applicable, based on the review of reimbursable accounting questionnaire completed by FBP to drive correct reimbursable revenue and expense accounting
• Partner with the team and other discipline groups, as appropriate, to develop and/or modify accounting for Program & Services to ensure the various Admin Disciplines’ programs & services revenue recognition results are accurately reflected in the company’s financial statement
• Use data and reports generated by the various Disciplines and own analyses of operating results, trends, and variations in results vs. expectations to identify actual/potential control issues and process improvement opportunities.
• Partner with the Finance Business Partner, Continent Teams and appropriate Discipline groups to develop and implement the necessary corrective actions.
• Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the programs& services revenue recognition processes.

• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent PC skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products
• PeopleSoft software experience preferred
• Knowledge of accounting (U.S. GAAP) and auditing principles required
• High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and integrity
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills required
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and implement resolutions

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting/ Finance major preferred)
• CPA a plus
• Minimum 8 years’ experience, including managing others
