As a Senior Software Engineer at Natera, you’ll collaborate as a member of a multifunctional team, building mission critical software that powers the execution of Natera’s diagnostic products. You’ll serve as a technical expert and owner of the solutions that your team builds. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement mission critical production software
• Work closely with the architecture team and drive complex system design
• Perform code reviews, participate in technical discussions within the team and the engineering organization
• Make key design and technical implementation choices on complex systems
• Work closely with technical product managers to define requirements, and transform those into highly scalable, reliable, secure and compliant microservices components
• Design, build and maintain highly sustainable systems to support Natera’s business processes.
• Continue improving process and procedure and evangelizing best practices
• Be a contributing team member to the end-to-end execution of compliance initiatives
• Be responsible for practicing technical design, developing new functionality and maintaining existing components.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in computer science, comparable program, or equivalent. MS preferred
• 7+ years of overall software development experience building secure, scalable web applications
• REACT tools including React.js, Webpack, Enzyme, Redux, and Flux
• Demonstrated teamwork skills with a solid analytical background
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• JavaScript, CSS, SCSS, HTML, and frontend languages.
• REACT tools including React.js, Webpack, Enzyme, Redux, and Flux
• Material UI components; building reusable front-end components
• Experience in converting Figma designs into efficient and reusable styles and components
• Node and Package Manager (npm, yarn, pnpm)
• Testing frameworks including Jest, Mocha and Playwright.
• REST API and Microservices Architecture
• XML and JSON
• Linux Fundamentals
• CI / CD
• Security & Quality Mindset
• Nice to have: Experience with cloud technologies, AWS is preferred.
• Nice to have: ElasticSearch or equivalent
• Nice to have: Docker or container-oriented technologies; Kubernetes or orchestration technologies
• Nice to have: Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven Development
